Post Sesame Street Cereal

We are actually not big cereal eaters in this house. Eggs are our go to breakfast. However, cereal comes in super handy when I need a quick snack I can throw into the snack catcher or if I need something to satisfy my sweet tooth.

For my toddler, I had been purchasing those puffs which were 2 bucks for hardly several ounces of food. Then I discovered Post Sesame Street Cereal in Apple (Elmo) and Banana (Cookie Monster) flavors. They are very similar to that other brand's puffs. They don't melt in the mouth so I'd recommend these for your older toddlers with some experience eating. Besides that though, they are perfect for an on the go snack.

Here are some highlights:

• They have very little sugar in them which of course my toddler doesn't mind. If you've been feeding your toddler high sugar cereal, they may be a bit disappointed.
• The cereal is shaped like X's and O's. My 1.5 year old daughter is now recognizing those letters in other settings. 
• The characters are the main draw for my daughter. She just recently discovered Sesame Street and this cereal has increased her awareness for Elmo and Elmo has increased her awareness for this cereal. 
• For the price of a box of cereal you can save money buying these over that other brand of overpriced puffs.

Schick Hydro Silk

 

For some reason, having freshly shaved legs really motivates me to work out, so I was stoked when my Schick Hydro Silk came in the mail. I hopped in the shower and shaved and oh boy - my legs were the smoothest they have EVER been. I am not exaggerating.

I have tried almost every razor out there - from the cheapo disposables to the gargantuan 10 blade man razors (okay, that may be an exaggeration). However, I have tried many. They have all done a decent job but didn't wow me like this razor did.

My upper legs are an issue for me. For some reason, they have always felt stubbly even after a fresh shave. Using the Schick Hydro Silk was different though. I'm not sure if it is the five blades that are curve sensing, the unique skin guards, or the water activated moisturizing serum or a combo of all three. All I know was I wanted to put on a short skirt and show off my legs to hubby!

Glade Expressions - Pineapple & Mangosteen Oil Diffuser

I currently have my new Glade oil diffuser sitting at my desk. It is providing me with an extremely pleasant smell. I definitely want to go back and purchase more of these for other rooms of the house. This particular fragrance smells like a Pina Colada - a refreshing smell in the middle of winter!

The scent is pleasing - detectable but not overpowering. As for the Bamboo holder I wasn't as impressed. In the box it looked nice and then I took it out and it felt cheap. The cutouts of leaves are not clean and it looks more like plywood than bamboo. It's cute from a distance, but up close you can tell not much effort was put into making this look elegant.

I've used oil diffusers before and I like this one better than those because of the frangrance and the fact you can't see the actual oil. Also, the oil bottle is not going to spill all over the place if a one-year old happens to storm through. *Smiles*

Morningstar Farms Chik'n Patties

I picked up a package of Morningstar Farms Chick'n Patties - can someone say delicious?

After picking them up at the grocery store, I knew they would be my lunch today. The directions suggest the oven as the preferred method of cooking them. I threw 3 patties in there and stuck one in the microwave because I couldn't wait. The one I cooked in the microwave wasn't crispy but it was still super yum! I made a sandwich out of it to share with my daughter and she kept saying, "more! more!"

After we ate that one, the ones in the oven were ready. They were crispy and delicious! I can see why they suggest putting them in the oven. I cut another one up for her to eat and put the third one in a leaf of lettuce for myself.

These veggie "chicken" patties really do taste like chicken! There is only one left and I'm trying to have some self control not to go back a eat the last one.

I think these would be great cut up in a salad, just like regular crispy chicken. Or you can do the lettuce wrap, or a chicken sandwich.

They come 4 to a pack and today at Vons (Safeway) there were $3.50 each. They have 140 calories and 5g of fat per patty. They do have a very long ingredients list which is one of the biggest downfalls. Also, I think I could stand having them a little bigger.

Expo TV - A Great Way To Earn Money

It has been less than a year since I signed up for an Expo TV account. At first, I was hesitant to post videos of myself on the internet, even if the monetary return was pretty good. Regardless, I mustered up the courage to make my first video - a review on an infant bathtub. That first video was awkward and took several tries until I was satisfied with the result. I filmed it myself by putting my camera on a ledge in the bathroom.

Fast forward to 2013 and I currently have 90 videos of myself reviewing different products I already had lying around the house. Those 90 videos have earned me 51,530 points. "How much is that monetarily?" you may ask. If I had redeemed those points for Amazon Gift Cards or a Visa Rewards Card, I would have $425. For Safeway Gift Cards, over $300. They have a whole store of gift cards and actual products you could redeem your points for.

The average video I make is between 1-2 minutes long. At the beginning, you will probably be messing up and require several tries to get a video you feel satisfied submitting. Now, I can usually get it done in the first go 'round. I have a webcam and I automatically upload my videos once done. Efficiently executed, to make about $5 takes me maybe 15 minutes of time. That's equivalent to $20/hr. Not too shabby from something you're doing from the comfort of your own home.

Out of all the various ways of earning extra income, Expo TV is probably my favorite and the easiest way to do this. In addition, they have a survey section you can earn points on which I use every now and again if I'm bored or watching TV, but for the most part the videos are what will earn you the most money for the least amount of effort.

On top of earning money for video reviews, they have a great program called "Tryology." You submit a questionnaire to qualify (you earn a small point reward for doing so) and if you qualify you get to try out products for free. In return, you submit a video review (no points rewarded for those ones).

The Tryology program has allowed me to try out the following products since I signed up:

Now, there are a few cons to signing up for Expo TV. The first is that your points take a week to be redeemable. It is kind of annoying because you may have submitted several videos over the course of several days and in order to use all those points at once, you have to wait until the last video's points clear.


Also, for redeeming points, the physical gift cards you order take quite a while to reach you. I have ordered a physical gift card for Red Lobster and it took about a month to receive. E-gift cards are much quicker, almost instantaneous. Some E-gift cards are the Visa Rewards, Starbucks, and Amazon.

Finally, it does sometimes make me feel uncomfortable signing a waiver saying that Expo or its brand affiliates can use my videos once I submit them. There is no way to delete a video after submission if you change your mind.

All in all, if you already have a camera or webcam available to you I would definitely recommend signing up for Expo TV and uploading some videos.
